It could be 10/7 too but let’s stick with 10/07 for now.
Today’s Peugeot is the slightly less boring (because weird) 1007, which we are not supposed to pronounce as one double o seven because the makers of Bond films get very iffy about it.
Anyway the
mille sept
was based on the very ordinary Citroen C3 and the even more ordinary 206 but it had a talking point. Just the two doors, but they slid electrically (or mechanically in case of any difficulties) and so the somewhat infirm could easily get in to the slightly raised seating position. To make it even easier you could specify the 2-Tronic automated gearbox, the same Sachs unit that was sold as Sensodrive on the C3. These get a lot of hate. I’ve driven three and found them all fine, so there.
Sadly the reality behind the seemingly good idea was a heavy, odd looking, expensive car and buyers stayed away in large numbers. Production continued from 2004 to 2009 and PSA haven’t made anything like it since.

I really think more cars should have sliding doors like that. Much easier to get them open in tight parking spaces.
